Hello, all! I’m so excited to be here with you at Dressing Room Interiors today with a guest post from Arcadian Home blog. It’s a fantastic place to find interior design inspiration including great decorating ideas for everything from beautiful foyer lighting to chic decorative accessories.
Today the topic is hallways, the often forgotten interior space. Whether you live in a large house or compact apartment, we hope you’ll be inspired by some of our favorite ideas for infusing a hallway with the same great style seen in the rest of your home. Please enjoy!
Lighting can be the key to stylish hallways. In this long hall, multiple pendant lights hang down the center between formal arches. Each painting also has its own picture light above.
A long wide hallway looks beautiful with the addition of a soft rug on the floor and furniture and mirrors arranged in appealing pairs. A large unframed painting adds visual interest in the foyer beyond.
What a clever way to add beauty and functionality to a short hall connecting two wings of the house! This unused space has been turned into a small library and reading nook.
Itís easy to add color to hallways with rugs or runners. Here sunny yellow hues on a rectangular rug and green modern stools brighten up a wide hallway. A white console on warm wood legs is tucked into the narrow niche formed by the staircase and topped by silver shell buffet lamps.
A narrow hallway lined with closets may seem like a design challenge but actually offers a unique opportunity to add lots of texture with raised trim or deep carved elements on the doors. Add a bit of glamour with brass hinges and door pulls.
A hallway can easily be personalized with favorite treasures and found objects. This cozy eclectic space is infused with blue from pale turquoise to deepest indigo.
A blue and white runner is just right for the hallway in a coastal style home. In this space, the long runner draws the eye to the bookcase with jaunty sailboats at the end of the hallway.
A narrow console table with simple lines works well in a contemporary apartment hallway. The frameless mirror collage and glittering glass pendant light are great additions to the sleek vignette. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
